Radio Controllers Origin and Development
The radio controllers allow the operator to remotely control a certain device without the hassle of being wired. Radio controllers are particularly used during the war as they remotely control bombs without the threat of being hurt in the operation. The effectiveness of this radio controllers and remotely operating certain ships and devices used in the war was a success. In 1950, the industry started to realize the importance of the radio control system and tried applying it. One of greatest challenge they had to face is the massive requirements of energy using battery. It was not until the era of transistors that the radio controllers become more popular and started its full applications in the industrial world. With the advent of transistors, a semiconductor device that helps amplify the signal, the battery requirement was reduced making radio controllers more powerful and increase popularity.
Today the industry recognized the radio control system application in the industrial machineries and equipments like cranes and switch yard automotives. Radio controlled aircrafts and racing cars are toys enjoyed not only by the little boys but as well as their fathers who actually control the toys by radio controllers.
Modern industries uses devices and equipments with a little intervention from human by combining automation in the radio control system. Most of the heavy machineries are now being operated remotely by using transistors that helps in the amplification of signals but there are certain limitations on this device. It should not exceed the maximum distance so that communication will always be possible.
Controlling many different devices especially those heavy equipments needs a lot of safety precautions. A single error can actually make a great disaster and can damage not only properties but as well as human life. The promotion of welfare and safety among operators is more important in the application of radio controllers.
