The term "mobile upgrade" comes into play when a person is attached with a particular mobile service provider under a contract. During this contract-term (ranges between 12 to 24 months), the phone-user is not permitted to shift to any other service provider, say Orange. Once the term comes to an end, the user is faced with two options-either to stick with the same company or to move to any other provider. Generally, it takes a lot while deciding to shift to any other company. It also takes a considerable time and efforts and then, comes the problems due to the changed number. All this takes a backseat, if one opts to stick with the same operator. The user not only gets an all new high-tech mobile phone, but also gets a lot of freebies in the form of free minutes, free messages and many more. And, the user also needs not to change the number. This is the kind of relief one gets after deciding to remain with the same company.
